Supplementary Educational Activities

 

Schools can be sent educational activities to explore character arc and story structure, as well as the exploration and discussion of gender roles/occupations and potential stereotypes.

The Play

 

The Sissy Duckling is an interactive 45-minute musical.

 

Question and Answer Period

 

Once the play has concluded, the actors will answer questions from the audience relating to the play’s themes and to the artistic presentation.

 

Post-Show Workshop

 

We offer a half-hour, interactive workshop for up to four groups of 15 – 30 students upon conclusion of the play. The workshop will focus on creative expression through music, drama and movement based on the play's themes of inclusion and celebration of diversity.

Art Competition

 

After seeing The Sissy Duckling, students may enter into an art competition.  Students will be asked to draw a picture of a moment in the Sissy Duckling story that resonated for them. There will be a winner for each grade and their artwork will be posted on the Theatre Outré website.
